I was bawling like a baby last night.
I can’t even articulate how proud I am.
Just grinning ear to ear like an idiot.
It’s even palpable walking down the streets,
it’s like we can spot each others happiness,
I’ve not experienced so much kindness
from and towards strangers in a long time.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves...the man's not a Messiah, just a very smart guy who want the right things. And he's got a hard road ahead.

But if his election inspires people to be more humane, more caring, more purposeful, then he'll have done more for this country than nearly anyone else.

I'm not sure at what point being happy means "getting ahead of ourselves." I have heard many people voice this concern and I say to them, relish the moment. Feel what happy feels like. Maybe he's not the Messiah, but is that what it takes to move people to action? Fear is not the answer. Fear is no way to live. Take the momentum and keep going, no reason to scoff at some hard work. No task is too difficult with a positive, informed attitude. I for one belive his election means exactly what you say: inspiring people to be more, do more. What's more is that it tells us he's not the only one who can do it, nor should he be. He didn't elect himself.

Leap into the unknown even though you have considered all the facts.

I'm so glad to see you here Danly:)
I love you:))

I hear you. I was being grumpy. I'm concerned that people will forget a core part of his message...WE'RE the ones who will make the changes.

But I'm totally down with not living in fear. Been living in fear a long time. Ask Lori and she'll tell you about my night terrors and panics, the night when metal beams shot out of the walls of our room, the night in Maine when I was convinced the wedding party across the street was spreading lies about me. That fear ain't all W's fault, but I think we've all felt it recently.

Aw, hell, run with it. Let's have some fun. And let's turn this big, dumb, lovable country around. Yes, America is my dog.
